The client was a software company with 170 employees worldwide and headquarters in Munich. The company did not have a human resources department until the start of the interim mandate. Due to the growth targets, HR was to be set up "from scratch" - project objective: to set up an HR team of three employees and appoint the Head of HR, describe the most important HR processes and recruit specialists and managers for the specialist departments within six months.
The interim HR manager reported directly to the CFO and was a member of the international management team. She was tasked with finding a Head of HR who already had experience in building up HR at a young company and had worked in an international environment. The interim manager was able to fill this key role within six weeks without the support of a headhunter. She was also able to hire the other team members on time.
In addition to the core task, the interim manager was involved in recruiting the following profiles and helped to fill them: software developer, 2nd level support, project manager, presales consultant, online marketing specialist with a specialization in SEO, VP Sales and in-house consultant ERP.
During the interim mandate, the HR interim manager also drove forward the professionalization of HR work. Among other things, she described and implemented processes for recruiting & onboarding as well as for HR administration.
The project was successfully completed within the specified time of six months and to the complete satisfaction of the client with a structured handover to the new Head of HR.
