The position as Head of the HR Service Center was intended as a pregnancy replacement or planned until a successor was found. But at the beginning of the crisis year 2009 in particular, many companies quickly had to adapt to a different situation. In the case of the sensor manufacturer, it became necessary to organize short-time work for up to 1000 employees at various locations. This process was made more difficult by the fact that legislation had just changed completely and nobody had any experience to fall back on. It therefore became necessary to develop a new concept.
In addition to organizing short-time work, the interim mandate included restructuring the HR department as a whole. In this case, the result was an HR Service Center in which various areas were brought together and processes were redeveloped. The interim manager acted as a source of ideas and central point of contact for the management board, works council, employment office, managers, controlling and employees.
Together with the company's employees, the interim manager led the project to success. At the end of the financial year, the company was in the black despite a slump in sales. Short-time working was also ended after 15 months. Reason enough for the CEO and the HR Director to personally thank everyone involved in the project with a handshake.
