More about the interim manager

The interim manager is an expert in the restructuring of companies, particularly in the context of self-administration and protective shield proceedings. The certified ESUG consultant (DIAI) has extensive commercial and legal expertise in the restructuring and reorganization of companies in an insolvency environment. In addition, the interim manager offers proven expertise in the analysis and adaptation of business models using the Business Model Canvas: this enables him to strategically realign companies and position them for the future.

In the past ten years, he has supported more than 50 companies through restructuring, more than 40 of which were involved in self-administration proceedings or protective shield proceedings (as of January 2023). From the large number of proceedings, the banker and business graduate with a focus on auditing and controlling has not only commercial expertise but also extensive legal know-how in corporate management in insolvency.

Mastered the entire range of restructuring

The interim manager is also a master of the entire range of restructuring - from site closures, plant relocations, staff reductions and lowering pay levels to cost-cutting programs and product portfolio streamlining. In negotiations on reconciliation of interests and social compensation plans, he presents the restructuring concept to the works council, justifies the restructuring measures, assists with the social selection and enforces the implementation of personnel measures. He also has extensive experience in negotiating with banks, shareholders and other stakeholders. He also acts on an equal footing with insolvency administrators, trustees and creditors' committees.

In addition to the preparation and initiation of self-administration and protective shield proceedings, the creation of concepts and stakeholder management, his experience also includes commercial procedural support - right through to involvement in the insolvency plan and/or investor process. Hands-on, he creates integrated business plans, short-term liquidity plans and going concern forecasts "in the middle of the engine room".

As a stress-resistant interim manager, he knows the problems and necessities of restructuring and is aware of the need for speed and urgency. He steers the change management process through structured action planning and efficient, agile project management. His team-oriented management style coupled with strong leadership, empathy and social skills enable him to put together and lead functioning project teams as a "team captain".

His consulting experience spans many industries: from manufacturing companies, retail and the service sector to social organizations, clinics and non-profit associations. He sees himself not as an industry specialist, but as a situation specialist, as he can apply his restructuring expertise across all sectors.
