More about the interim manager
As an engineer with a doctorate in mechanical engineering and an industrial engineer, the interim manager (born in 1956) has many years of experience in production, logistics and quality management in mechanical and plant engineering. Throughout his career, he has been responsible for leading teams in the development, optimization and transformation of production and logistics processes as well as logistics and quality management. As a project manager, he has repeatedly planned or reorganized plants in Germany and the USA.
One focus of his interim mandates is the simplification of processes in line with commercial objectives, for example by reducing inventories, idle times or waste. As a mechanical engineer with a doctorate, he has an excellent technical understanding with particular expertise in the field of metal processing. He successfully applies this knowledge time and again in the analysis, stabilization and innovation of even complex production processes.
The interim manager is an experienced and confident user of agile project management methods as well as Kanban and Six Sigma. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) are also a natural part of his toolbox.
The interim manager gained his first professional experience in cross-plant development and optimization projects in MAN production. In a line function, he organized the digital production control of a production facility, among other things. At a Siemens subsidiary, he reduced component variants by 75 percent. As part of quality management, he set up a global complaints management system for the assembly of large logistics systems and resolved major claims in the six-figure euro range.
As an interim manager, he led a development project at the Swedish company Sandvik and several projects in production and development at Heraeus to stabilize and optimize products and processes.
His personal strengths lie in building on existing structures and developing them together with the teams on the basis of new ideas, methods and techniques. His very good analytical skills help him to do this, enabling him to classify relationships and situations very quickly and recognize fundamental structures.
Both employees and managers appreciate his appreciation of the people around him and his calm and friendly manner, with which he looks for solution-oriented approaches and works consistently towards the goals he has set.
