On behalf of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Global HR Vice Presidents (VP HR) of the Automotive Engineering Division, the HR Interim Manager was commissioned as a strategic HR consultant, project manager and HR executive coach. The assignment included activities in Germany, Asia and the USA. The interim mandate was limited to 12 months.
Embedded in the CTO's global business leadership team, the HR interim manager defined three strategic goals and results for the assignment.
Conception and implementation of global skills management
The global skills management for 2,000 engineers in Europe, China, Korea, Japan and the USA was to be reorganized. This included selecting the technical solution in a global SAP HCM / Success Factor environment. After a detailed analysis of the current situation and requirements, an internally developed software solution was chosen to meet the management's requirements in the medium term. The project management included the global coordination of the software development team and the cross-functional management of the HR teams in key countries in the regions. The interim manager successfully managed all critical aspects of the project - from the design of the solution to process design and change management. In change management, the interim manager was primarily involved in communication, training and stakeholder management.
Strategic HR consulting in the organizational structure
The HR interim manager developed and successfully established a recruitment strategy to attract employees worldwide for the establishment of a new business unit in sensor technology. One of his other focal points in this sub-project was to coach and advise senior management on the implementation of selection procedures for highly qualified employees. At the same time, he managed the global HR recruitment activities and was also responsible for controlling.
Onboarding the new global strategic HR business partner
The HR interim manager supported the global HR business partner for the Automotive division as a business coach. In addition to professional coaching, the intercultural development and integration of the manager was an important element. The interim manager provided this coaching at the executive's location in Asia.
