More about the interim manager

The interim manager is a highly experienced intercultural business executive for challenging turnaround and expansion projects in the energy industry as well as in electrical and mechanical engineering. His expertise, international experience and multilingualism make the Tunisian-born manager particularly well suited for assignments in the Middle East (MENA) and in French-speaking regions - from France and Switzerland to North Africa (Maghreb) and Canada. The interim manager is usually mandated as CEO, managing director or in business development, as well as an expert in mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integrations.

Since fall 2022, the interim manager has been working intensively on one of the most pressing issues of the energy transition: The production, procurement and transportation of green hydrogen. At trade fairs and international conferences, he has expanded his already top-class network in the energy sector in North Africa and the Middle East to include plant manufacturers and component suppliers. This makes the expert a very good choice for companies that want to produce and refine green hydrogen in Maghreb countries such as Algeria and Mauritania, for example - or supply machinery and equipment for production and transportation to North African energy and chemical companies.

In his most recent mandates, for example, the interim manager played a key role in developing and implementing the business development strategy in selected markets (southern Germany, North Africa, new markets) and industrial sectors (energy, oil and gas, cement, steel, maritime) for a long-established mechanical engineering company. In addition, he has led a team for public international tenders. He was able to place his client as a listed supplier with two large Algerian groups from the energy sector. In another mandate, he acquired properties for sale as an M&A specialist. He has also managed due diligences and accompanied negotiations with sellers and investors.

Before his time as an independent interim manager (since 2009), the expert was, among other things, Managing Director of a group subsidiary and Head of Business Relations & Partnering Strategy Mobile at Siemens.

Excellent intercultural skills | Fluent in Arabic, German, English and French

The interim manager's clients benefit not only from his expertise in the energy industry, electrical and mechanical engineering, but also from his outstanding intercultural skills. Due to his career and his personal cosmopolitan history, he is just as familiar with the cultures of North Africa and the Middle East as he is with those of Europe and North America. Thanks to his network, the interim manager is also close to "his" markets. He deals intensively with the influence of macroeconomic developments on companies and is therefore able to proactively set the tone for expected market changes.

His multilingualism also offers particular added value: the interim manager speaks Arabic and French at native speaker level as well as fluent German and English. His network in companies and government institutions as well as business associations and organizations is correspondingly international. The interim manager is happy to put this valuable network at the service of his clients.

With his skills, the interim manager acts as a bridge builder, moderator and mediator between asymmetrical business cultures. They enable him to successfully lead cross-functional and multinational teams, act with confidence and empathize with the concerns of international customers and business partners. He has repeatedly and successfully demonstrated these skills, particularly in the business culture tensions of the MENA region and in francophone countries.

The interim manager leads and communicates empathetically and openly. He involves the team in the decision-making processes - and at the same time provides guidance and field knowledge.
