More about the interim manager
The interim manager is an internationally experienced executive for management in purchasing and materials management. He has repeatedly made a major contribution to significantly improving the results of his clients. The expert is equally adept at implementing price reductions as he is at making purchasing processes efficient (cost efficiency) and optimizing company processes (sales and operations planning, S&OP). His special skills also include his extensive success and corporate experience in China, India and other Asian countries.
In more than half a dozen mandates with internationally operating companies, the interim manager has helped his clients out of crises or significantly improved their value creation efficiency. In his most recent mandate (2023/24), as head of global materials management, the expert helped to solve the supply problems of an internationally operating German mechanical engineering company within a very short space of time. By introducing stringent processes for sales and operations planning (S&OP), he also laid the foundation for the company's purchasing department to now be optimally integrated into the relevant processes.
In the previous mandate, the interim manager led a task force to optimize critical supply chains at an international mechanical engineering company with billions in sales. As International Purchasing Manager for a German Tier 1 automotive supplier, he significantly improved the result and qualified suppliers in China and India. As a consultant for a US company (private equity), he analyzed the purchasing department of an international industrial supplier and developed detailed proposals for the transformation of purchasing. He then managed the implementation and realized a significant leap in profits for the client.
International procurement expertise, well-connected in Asia
Before becoming self-employed, the interim manager worked for more than 25 years in leading procurement and finance functions in corporations and medium-sized companies. In Europe, he worked in Denmark, Germany and England, among other places. He worked successfully in China and other Asian countries for more than 17 years. As a senior expert, he provides knowledgeable support to companies with Asian ambitions in avoiding the typical pitfalls. Due to his many years abroad, he is well connected and negotiates confidently in English, German and - due to his origins - Danish.
Clients, teams and employers describe the interim manager as a level-headed and motivating leader. They attest to his enthusiasm for improvement and for winning over the people around him to new ideas. His pragmatic working style combines renewal and preservation - and impresses employees, managers and executive boards.
