More about the interim manager
The interim manager is an expert in quality management in plant engineering and in the production of high-tech products. As an experienced quality manager, the graduate engineer and industrial engineer covers the entire spectrum of quality and supplier management. His industry focus is on the semiconductor, automotive, (bio)pharmaceutical and energy storage sectors. He takes on interim mandates and consulting assignments in the areas of research and development, prototype construction and testing, supply chain management, production and aftersales, as well as projects to build teams or bridge vacancies in quality management.
The expert has been successfully implementing projects as an interim manager, consultant and auditor since 2017. By the end of 2023, he had successfully completed six mandates. In his most recent mandate, he supported a young supplier of energy storage solutions in the course of scaling up as Head of Quality to raise the level of quality maturity to industry level and built up quality management from the ground up. Prior to that (2019 to 2021), the Interim Head of QA/QC at a leading plant manufacturer in the biopharmaceutical industry was successfully responsible for meeting GMP standards, improving product reliability, halving warranty case numbers and significantly shortening complaint processing times, among other things. In a brief assignment as interim quality manager at a supplier of photovoltaic systems, he optimized weak points in the production process in just a few months and thus managed to avoid recurring product defects.
Competent collaboration with engineering, operations and aftersales
The interim manager offers his clients decades of experience in strategic and operational quality management. Before becoming self-employed, he was most recently Head of QM Europe at Brooks Automation in Jena. As Quality Manager Europe at Applied Materials, the global market leader for equipment in the semiconductor industry, his responsibilities included the development and expansion of the quality system for all 16 sites in Europe in accordance with SSQA (Business Excellence). This created the basis for the company to be listed as a "Preferred Quality Supplier" by INTEL. In numerous international projects in the EU, India, the USA and Israel, he had the opportunity to get to know the most diverse business cultures, build up a resilient network and deepen his intercultural skills.
The interim manager leads his projects to success using both classic and agile methods. He takes a pragmatic approach with a hands-on mentality. He enjoys working for smaller companies just as much as for larger SMEs and medium-sized corporate units.
He also "trains" his eye, trained in quality management, in his private life, for example when renovating and maintaining his listed old building and observing and identifying bird species.
