More about the interim manager
The interim manager is an expert in realigning and building international sales teams. As a graduate engineer, he offers extensive industry expertise in medical technology - as well as comprehensive know-how in sales management. One of the expert's particular strengths lies in leading transformation and change projects to success by proactively involving the people in the company at an early stage and rallying them behind the solution despite their individual sensitivities.
In his most recent mandate, the interim manager advised a medium-sized tool technology company on the realignment of its 60-strong international sales and marketing team in 2023. Prior to that, he was Executive Director Sales and Country Manager at a German medical technology manufacturer. In this mandate (which in the meantime led to a permanent position), he succeeded in fundamentally transforming the sales structure and re-motivating the team. The result: after three years of stagnation, the team achieved double-digit sales growth two years in a row.
The expert has been working as a freelance interim manager and consultant since 2017. Previously, he held positions including Director of Sales and Country Manager, Business Development Manager and Business Manager at well-known medical technology companies. His specialist expertise covers more than 30 inpatient and outpatient specialist areas - with a focus on cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, internal medicine, orthopaedics and emergency medicine. As a sales manager, he knows the medical technology market in Germany inside out and enjoys using his large network for the benefit of his clients.
Promotes intrinsic motivation - and therefore project success
Clients and teams alike attest to the interim manager's above-average empathy, communication and leadership skills. He closely involves all team members at an early stage - from strategy development to operational implementation. He focuses on the success of the team and promotes progress through individual coaching. This enables him to strengthen the intrinsic motivation of those involved and use it for the success of the project. Another positive effect of his supportive approach: At the end of the mandate, he leaves behind teams that work constructively - with people who identify with their role and establish and drive forward the initiated changes in a qualified manner.
The expert's understanding of leadership is formulated by Hans H. Hinterhuber (Professor Emeritus of Strategic Management in Innsbruck) as follows: "The basic task of leadership is to take an interest in people, to help them develop, to reach their maximum performance potential and to encourage them to perhaps aim a little higher than they themselves think possible. Leadership and a genuine interest in people belong together."
