More about the interim manager
The interim manager is an expert in growth in medical technology and diagnostics. He has repeatedly launched complex products internationally, brought about the turnaround of ailing business units and successfully built up start-ups. In more than 20 years in the Swiss medical technology sector, he has also built up a comprehensive and resilient international network of key opinion leaders and medical technology companies, which he is happy to put at the service of his clients. In particular, this includes excellent contacts with institutional investors and potential partner companies from the life sciences sector.
In his most recent mandate, the interim manager developed a marketing strategy for a Swiss start-up with a German subsidiary in the field of neurosurgery in the second half of 2023 for its market entry in Europe and the USA. Prior to this, he guided two Swiss hospitals through a challenging merger process. From September 2022 to March 2023, as Interim Head of Marketing and Sales, he was instrumental in bringing about the turnaround of a business unit of a Swiss biotech company with a new sales strategy and efficient marketing.
Successful managing director of start-ups and SMEs in medical technology
Before becoming self-employed (since 2022), the interim manager was most recently managing director of a Swiss start-up that successfully developed a new diagnostic method for measuring visual behavior and placed it on the market. His tasks ranged from capital procurement and general management to the development and implementation of the business model and the approval of the method in Europe and the USA. Previously, as Managing Director and Head of Marketing at various medical technology companies, he managed major projects ranging from company sales and international market launches to innovation management. From 2012 to 2017, he expanded his scientific background as a lecturer at the Institute for Corporate Management at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen, Eastern Switzerland. He has also advised companies on strategy development and managed research projects in the life sciences sector as well as hospitals in Switzerland and abroad.
The interim manager's communication and leadership skills are less influenced by corporations than by start-ups. With his international experience, multilingualism (German, English, French, Italian) and a pronounced hands-on mentality, he is particularly convincing in young multicultural teams.
