The interim manager is an expert in business development and commercial excellence in the international paper and binder industry. In particular, he understands how to grow successfully with technical products in the B2B business sector. With a combination of many years of experience as a business director and technical expertise (engineering degree) as well as international experience, he supports innovation and growth projects from product development to successful marketing. The expert is seeking mandates as interim CEO, R&D manager or project manager.

In his most recent projects, the interim manager restructured the strategy of the global business unit for binders (cardboard packaging, paper and textile applications) for an international chemical group. By changing the business model from technical product differentiation to a solution-oriented customer centric approach, he was able to significantly improve profitability. During the coronavirus pandemic, customer centricity played a major role in achieving a business result above expectations despite supply chain problems. Before coronavirus, the interim manager was able to successfully conclude strategic new contracts with a volume of more than USD 200 million in the EU and the USA thanks to excellent market assessments. His EMEA strategy played a key role in successfully realigning four production sites in the region and making them more profitable.

MBA and engineering graduate with many years of international experience

Before taking on the role of Global Business Director, the interim manager (self-employed since June 2022) worked for the same company, where his roles included global business development and head of application technology with locations in the USA, China, Korea, Brazil and Switzerland. Prior to that, he held several management positions at the Swiss branch of the international Dow Group. in 2023, the interim manager completed further training at IMD Lausanne on digitalization strategies and the sustainability of digital transformations.

The interim manager's clients benefit in particular from the particularly extensive industry experience of the graduate engineer with an MBA in the international chemical and paper industry. He has highly developed intercultural skills from his management responsibility for global business units and R&D functions as well as three years working abroad in the USA. With his background as a manager, engineer and craftsman, he is very well placed to quickly build trust with people at all levels of the company and work with them to develop solutions that make a sustainable contribution to results.
