More about the interim manager

The interim manager is an internationally experienced C-level expert in optimizing order-to-cash processes. He is also very adept at scaling production quickly and efficiently and reducing production costs. The graduate engineer in mechatronics and trainer for business excellence has above-average expertise in medical technology and mechanical engineering as well as corresponding SaaS business models. He is usually hired by large SMEs as Interim Chief Operating Officer (Interim COO) or Head of Operations. He also takes on project management roles, for example in fast-growing start-ups or for turnarounds of business units. The expert also accepts mandates in temporary employment, fixed-term contracts and inter-company relationships.

In his most recent mandates, the interim manager has managed repair units at Olympus (2023) and developed and implemented a KPI dashboard and set up a master plan for delivery capability as Head of Operations and Customer Service at ZEISS Vision in 2022. Prior to that, as a scaling coach and COO at a start-up for diagnostic test procedures, he made a significant contribution to selling and operationally realizing 500,000 tests per year (turnover 2.3 million euros) in a SaaS business model in the first year after its foundation. As Director Operations at another start-up for digital solutions in surgical medical technology, he tripled turnover within four months and led the company out of the crisis.

As Interim Executive Director Global at another medical technology company with markets in 80 countries, he managed a business unit as a change agent and was responsible for 25 percent global growth. In addition, he personally contributed to the company's success for more than six years with digitalization projects for the operating room at Caresyntax and STORZ.

Quickly identifying weaknesses and implementing solutions

For 30 years in manufacturing companies, he has always paid particular attention to effective order-to-cash processes. Due to his diverse experience in various areas of the value chain - sales, product and quality management, procurement, scheduling, work preparation, production, aftersales - he is particularly good at quickly identifying weaknesses, developing and implementing solutions and communicating them in a goal-oriented manner at all levels of the company.

With his clients, it is important to him to give meaning to the tasks and build trust as the basis of every successful project. As a leader with heart and hands, he listens attentively to his counterparts, calls a spade a spade and is a coach for employees and colleagues. With routine, expertise and empathy, he gets teams to realize their full potential and work towards a common goal.
