More about the interim manager
The interim manager is an expert in indirect purchasing. His focus is on services such as marketing, management consulting, interim management, facility management, maintenance & repair, employee leasing, fleet and travel management. In his mandates, he covers the entire management spectrum from team leader to CPO.
The interim manager's particular strengths are his strategic approach and careful analysis of procurement markets, internal stakeholders, service requirements and potential risks. From this, he develops viable product group strategies, which he implements in negotiations using creative solutions.
The interim manager has repeatedly realized major savings. In one of his most recent mandates, he was able to reduce translation costs by a third for an MDAX company by negotiating with the established suppliers. In another project, the standardization of framework agreements made it possible to reduce costs in the area of temporary employment by 14 percent. Previously, as purchasing manager at an RWE subsidiary in the UK, he achieved average savings of eight percent over several years on an expenditure volume of around one billion euros. Previously, only three percent had been considered realistic.
The interim manager achieves his successes primarily by placing great value on efficient processes. For example, he optimizes procurement processes through automation. This frees up resources and improves data quality at the same time. In turn, good and transparent data often reveals approaches for further optimization.
The interim manager always pursues a holistic approach. His well-balanced interplay of stakeholder management, process optimization, strategy development, risk assessment and hands-on implementation make him a highly effective and successful procurement manager.
Before becoming self-employed (2019) and specializing in procurement, the interim manager worked in controlling and was responsible for evaluating very large M&A transactions, among other things. In other roles, he also acted as commercial project manager for an IPO in the USA and as commercial director of two nuclear power plants, including management of nuclear procurement.
The interim manager leads his teams by setting ambitious goals. He closely supports change processes, coaches his teams and takes them along with him. As an empathetic manager, he was nominated as "Britain's Best Boss" by his team.
Thanks to his experience, he is just as confident at C-level as he is in dealing with all other stakeholders. This applies not only nationally, but also internationally. During his time working abroad in the UK, the USA and the Netherlands, he was not only able to use his language skills, but also expand his particular intercultural expertise and build bridges between different cultures with sensitivity.
