The interim manager is an expert in the entire spectrum of commercialization in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. His focus is on the overarching optimization of sales and marketing for pharmaceutical products. In addition, as General Manager he has repeatedly made a significant contribution to the successful completion of restructuring and turnaround projects by developing innovative business strategies or transforming business models. The interim manager is usually mandated on a temporary basis as the head of a business unit, as a sales or marketing manager and as a consultant at C-level.

From October 2023 to December 2024, the interim manager took over the management of sales at a listed German pharmaceutical company (200 employees, 100 million euros turnover). In this role, he managed the restructuring of the field sales force and the business analytics team. Key aspects included the development and implementation of KPI-oriented management processes and personnel restructuring, including a reconciliation of interests and the creation of a redundancy plan.

From September 2023 to May 2024, the interim manager advised a northern German family business in the biotechnology sector on realigning and streamlining its business model. The focus was on implementing digital core processes in purchasing, sales, business development and financial management.

In another role as Senior Director Business Unit Specialty Products at an international, listed pharmaceutical company with a turnover of more than five billion euros, he developed an innovative sales and marketing concept that increased the turnover of a specialty drug by 27% per year.

Many years of experience as a manager in international pharmaceutical companies

The expert has been working independently as a consultant and interim manager since 2012. During this time, he has successfully completed more than a dozen mandates as Managing Director and Head of Business Units as well as Head of Sales and Marketing. Before becoming self-employed, he was most recently Managing Director DACH at an international pharmaceutical company and Business Head Area West Germany + Luxembourg at Novartis AG as well as National Sales Manager at AstraZeneca GmbH.

He also has in-depth expertise in data analysis. This includes extensive expertise in the use of business intelligence systems, Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Navision, SAP CRM, SAP Business One and Salesforce.
