The client was a medium-sized company in the consumer goods industry in the Stuttgart area with more than 500 employees worldwide. The interim manager stood in for the group's HR manager during parental leave and took on several key HR projects.
Reorientation of recruiting processes and employer branding
On the one hand, the aim was to professionalize and realign the recruiting process. The company was in a strong growth phase and wanted to attract proven specialists and talents. The company was already well known among its target group for its products. As an employer, however, it was more of a blank slate. It was also struggling with high staff turnover following a change process. In the region around Stuttgart, the talent sought is highly sought after. The HR team had little knowledge of how successful recruiting works in the age of social media.
Master vendor for temporary work
Together with the HR team, the interim manager mapped the recruiting process, identified weaknesses and replaced them with more efficient processes. She introduced structured application interviews and testing procedures to improve the fit of the hires. It also streamlined the pool of service providers and negotiated uniform conditions. A master vendor was selected for temporary staffing, which has since been responsible for managing the commercial labor requirements.
New applicant management system increases quality of recruitment
In addition, the interim manager initiated an HR IT project that included the acquisition of an applicant management system. Employer branding was improved through an HR initiative in which the company values were adjusted and brought to life in close consultation with the workforce.
As a result, the quality and motivation of the employees recruited increased, as did the speed of recruitment, which led to increased satisfaction for everyone involved.
Company agreements on data protection - GDPR and BDSG
As a lawyer for employment law, the interim manager focused on converting the HR processes and forms for implementing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in another sub-project.
Collaboration with the works council improved
In weekly meetings with the works council chairmen, she quickly built trust and commitment. This improved cooperation overall and accelerated the conclusion of important company agreements. The new edition of sample employment contracts and the standardization of contractual regulations and deadlines created more transparency, clarity and legal certainty.
