Due to a change in internal project managers, an international group in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry decided to outsource the concept for securing its long-term personnel requirements for engineers to an interim manager. The project team was made up of specialists from the Employer Branding, Recruitment and Compensation & Benefits departments as well as HR Business Partners from various locations.
As the project manager, the interim manager was responsible for all project management tasks. The main challenge was to bundle the interests of the different departments. The aim was to find a joint solution to achieve the objectives that met the strategic requirements of the top management. The interim manager was also responsible for coaching new HR business partners, training managers and recruiting specialists and managers in quality management.
During the 10-month project, a sustainable concept for the present and future was developed and the first sub-areas were implemented. According to those involved, a good basis has been created for recruiting experienced specialists and retaining them at the company in the long term.
