The client is an owner-managed family business with 1400 employees that specializes in the development and orientation of modern healthcare facilities (outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation facilities) in Germany.
The company had recently grown rapidly. The structures in HR work and processes (especially in contract design) had not kept pace with this. Among other things, the HR interim manager was hired to develop and introduce a transparent and comprehensible remuneration system. In addition, house rules with clear information on working hours, time accounts, vacation, notice periods, etc. were to create reliable and comparable rules. This resulted in the need to draw up new employment contracts for many employees. A particular challenge was to explain the personal framework conditions to each of the affected employees. The changes had to be communicated in an understandable way to ensure that all new employment contracts were signed. As a result, all works councils and therefore almost all affected employees were persuaded to sign.
Drafting rules for contract design
During the contract implementation phase, it very quickly became apparent that some case constellations had not been considered in the run-up to the interim mandate. For these cases, the HR interim manager developed future-proof contract drafting solutions, which were also implemented quickly and pragmatically. This resulted in a set of rules based on individual case decisions that forms a solid foundation for new cases in the future. The individual case decisions were also provided with extensive commentary on the employment regulations.
In addition to these tasks, the HR interim manager also defined tasks and roles for new positions and managed the recruitment of these new positions. She also advised the management on how the HR work could be sustainably adapted to the client's growth.
