How to Create Your Member Profile

As an interim management provider, we can only place you our interim managers in an assignment if at least two conditions are met. First: A potential client is looking for someone with exactly your skills and experience. Second: We know that you possess these skills and experience. That is why it is crucial that you keep your information in the member area up to date at all times from your professional focus and previous positions to your industry experience, education, and certifications. Since March 2025, we’ve been able to create anonymized member profiles from this information using AI and largely automated. You can even participate in the creation process yourself. In this post, we’ll explain how it works.

What is a member profile?

A member profile is an automatically generated profile of an interim manager. It is published on our website in anonymized form that is, without mentioning any names and serves to provide potential clients with as accurate a picture as possible of an interim professional. To ensure that the profiles are meaningful and compelling, we need up-to-date and complete information about each individual. That’s why it’s the responsibility of all specialists and executives listed in our pool to maintain their profile data themselves in the Members’ Area. This is important for several reasons: not only for the AI-supported creation of member profiles, but also for the matching process when a client requests an interim professional from us and we identify the most suitable candidates.

What are the benefits of a member profile?

When interim managers create a member profile, they benefit in several ways:

  • Visibility on the di website
The Manager Overview is the central location where the interim professionals listed with us present themselves: previously with editorially curated profiles, and now also with AI-generated profiles. In addition, we also display profiles relevant to the respective topic on all areas of expertise pages, functions pages, and regional pages. Profiles are displayed randomly.
  • Visibility in traditional search engines
In particular, the editorially curated profiles have performed exceptionally well on Google to date. For example, if a user searched for “Interim CFO for Mechanical Engineering,” a relevant profile had a good chance of appearing prominently in the results list. It remains to be seen to what extent the new AI search systems will change the concept of search engine optimization (SEO) or even render it obsolete.
  • Visibility in AI-powered systems
With the new member profiles, we’ve taken a major step toward relevance for AI. In the context of AI-powered systems such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, these profiles offer a strategic advantage: they provide structured, semantically unambiguous, and trustworthy information about real experts. As a result, they increase the visibility of the person featured and reinforce their positioning as an expert. At the same time, the profiles serve as a robust trust signal in the context of E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), as they highlight expertise and experience. This is crucial for the evaluation and prioritization of content by AI systems, because such content is more likely to be included in AI-generated responses, while the person described specifically builds trust and strengthens their digital reputation.

How much does a member profile cost?

Creating and publishing a member profile is free for all accredited Pool members. This sets us apart from common recruitment platforms that charge listing fees. The member profile serves as a digital showcase that allows you to position yourself as an interim manager on our website. As far as the placement process is concerned, nothing will change: We put people first. We maintain personal contact with both our clients and the interim professionals. AI speeds up our processes, but recruitment especially through a traditional provider like Deutsche Interim AG is and always will be a people business.

Step by step: How to create your member profile

Follow these instructions to create your member profile step by step.

Log in to the Members’ Area.

Access your member profile

Select the “Member Profile” tab in the menu on the left. This will take you to the editing screen.

Edit Data

In the editing screen, you can update a variety of information.

  • Heading
You have the option to edit the heading manually or generate it using AI. Select “Create Heading” to receive an AI-based suggestion. If you click the pencil icon instead, you can write your own headline. Please follow our editorial guidelines.
  • Primary Skills
Directly below the headline, we’ll showcase your three core skills. Based on your resume, the skills extracted from it, and your additional information, you’ll automatically receive a suggestion. If you’d like to highlight other skills here, click the pencil icon and select the desired skills from the list. If the skills you’re looking for are missing here, navigate to the “Skills Profile” tab in the menu on the left. Here you can add additional skills.
  • Focus Area and Department
So that we can display your member profile in the appropriate professional context on our website, please first select the focus area with which you identify. Each area of focus is associated with various areas of expertise. Please select the appropriate option here as well. Please note that these are required fields. Without this information, we cannot publish your member profile.
  • Photo
To the left of the heading, you’ll see your current photo. By clicking “Upload Photo” below the displayed image, you can upload a different profile photo of yourself. If you would like a professional photo with a solid background, please contact us using the form at the end of this post. Make sure your photo is high-resolution. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that it will display properly.
  • Summary
A summary of your background as an interim professional including your professional qualifications, industry expertise, continuing education, and similar details forms the second section of your member profile. You can write your own summary by clicking the pencil icon. Alternatively, our AI can do this for you. To do so, simply click “Create Summary.”

Please note: If you already have an editorially prepared profile, this profile will be displayed on our website instead of the summary.

Our tip: Have the AI generate a draft for you and customize it if you see room for improvement. When creating your profile summary, please also follow our editorial guidelines.

  • Additional Skills
In the next section, list up to twelve additional skills to complement your three core skills. You can use the pencil icon to adjust our preselection. If you notice any missing competencies, please add them in the menu on the left via the “Competency Profile” tab.
  • Industry Experience
Based on the information in your resume, we’ve identified the industries in which you’ve been active. You can customize the list by clicking the pencil icon. In the table on the right, you can provide additional details about the industry. Under “Summary,” we display information about each position from your resume. If you’d like to make changes here, close the editing window, navigate to your “Resume” via the menu on the left, and edit the relevant information there.
  • Professional Roles
You can also adjust your professional roles using exactly the same procedure.
  • Project or Professional Experience
This table also already contains the information from your resume. Clicking the pencil icon takes you to the resume overview. There, you can edit your professional history: from summarizing each individual project or professional experience to listing the required skills and details such as project duration and location.
  • Education and Training
You can edit your education and training using the same process as for your project or professional experience. Click the pencil icon to open an overview of all training programs you have participated in. Here, you can use drag-and-drop to not only assign core and detailed skills to each program, but also provide information on duration, the training institution, the type of training, and the degree or certification earned.
  • Publications
Your member profile concludes with an overview of all your publications that have appeared on our website: from an editorially curated profile to your project reports and your article in the Expert Consulting section. Please note that you cannot edit this information.

Submit Profile

Finally, click the “Submit for Publication” button. You’ll find it in the top right corner next to the heading. This submits your profile draft to us for review. If it meets our editorial guidelines, we will publish your profile. If there are any discrepancies, we will send you a revised draft. You will be informed of each step via an email that our system automatically sends to you.

Differences: Editorially Curated vs. AI-Generated Profile

You may be wondering what the difference is between an editorially curated profile and an AI-generated one. This is a valid question. When Tilo Ferrari founded Deutsche Interim AG in 2019, he adopted an SEO-based and content-driven approach from the very beginning: If you can be found on Google, you’re relevant in the market. The motto was therefore: Content, content, content. One sales strategy that has greatly helped us as a provider and you as interim managers is the editorially curated profile. Our online marketing expert, Charly Kahle, has worked with you our interim professionals to create more than 600 such profiles: based on your content, written professionally and accompanied by a high-quality photo. Charly Kahle is a true expert at crafting profiles that are both highly informative and engaging, based on detailed resumes and personal interviews.

In the age of AI, we now have the ability to create profiles automatically. We have built our own AI tech stack, which includes, among other things, locally installed language models and custom-developed prompts. This allows us to publish AI-generated profiles. As always when dealing with artificial intelligence, the following applies: The better the input, the better the result. This means that only if your information in the member area is up-to-date and complete will our AI be able to convert this data into meaningful profiles.

Good to Know
We took the utmost care when training the AI. Nevertheless, you may feel that your member profile does not accurately describe you. That’s why as described above you can edit it in certain places and submit your suggestions to us for review.

On our website, we publish both the editorially prepared profile and the AI-generated profile as a “Manager Profile.” In doing so, we merge the content of the profiles:

  • If an editorially prepared profile already exists, we display the text written by Charly Kahle and supplement it with the generated tables (Additional Skills, Industry Experience, Professional Roles, Project or Professional Experience, Education and Training, and if available Publications).
  • For individuals without an editorially prepared profile, the headline and summary created in the members’ area are also displayed alongside the tables.

Good to Know
Charly Kahle will be happy to edit your profile for you (price: starting at 390 euros net). You’ll benefit from his many years of experience as an editor and his trusted collaboration with interim managers.
